It's About Time!
Half the month is gone already! Time really is speeded up these days. I find myself feeling busier than ever, with so many things that I want to do clashing with the things that I feel I have to do.
If you find yourself feeling frantic about time, then slow it down to a crawl and think about it. You only have so much time in which to get everything done. So if you feel rushed or pushed for time, maybe it's time to set some priorities.
Sit down and draw 2 columns on a piece of paper. Label one column "Have Tos" and the other "Want Tos". Then list the things you want to get done. Next to each item put down how much approximate time it would take you to get it done. Be as specific as you can - you don't need to include "brush my teeth" but you should include things like "sleep", "take a walk" or "meditate". This will show you how many activities you can actually fit into a day.
You could also go through your lists with more descrimination; for instance, which items are fantasies or dreams you would like to accomplish someday? Those can be eliminated, especially if they take the form of a 'bucket list'. Sure, there are a plethora of things you could - potentially - get done, but for right now you're trying to manage your time on a day-to-day basis, so narrow it down to the actual activities that you are likely to do - or HAVE to do - in a day.
Once you've finished with your list, walk away from it. Go outside or someplace quiet, and just sit for five minutes and watch the breath. Listen to the sound it makes. Feel it as it enters your body and goes back out. Take a time out to just enjoy having the time that you do have.
