Don't Let Sleeping Dogs Lie!

If there are things from your past that have not been dealt with and are still bothering you, they are not going away on their own - ever. This doesn't mean that we need to dig up every slight and offense ever committed against us during our earlier life; but it DOES mean that things that you still feel overly emotional about will continue to bother you until you take care of them.

There are several ways to work that out, of course. You don't necessarily have to get psychoanalytical about it; that's one way, but not the only way.

You can pay attention to what happens when you begin to feel that emotion and see where it's coming from. If it leads you back to something that happened in the past, you can commit to forgiving the offender; you can have an imaginary conversation with the person/people involved, hearing all sides and getting a larger perspective; or you could just feel the emotion, notice what triggered it and where it's coming from, and acknowledge it. Then let it go. Or, you could use hypnosis.

Hypnosis can be a great catalyst for releasing old emotions that have created barriers to your progress. The conscious mind will usually do what it can to keep you from this kind of deep exploration, especially if it would be painful. But the subconscious mind is at home with these issues and knows how to handle them skillfully and effectively, if you are willing.
